TECHNICIAN

They are involved in the creative process of determining the best solutions to customer needs in addition to the production of the molds or parts.
Job Duties:
-
Create fiberglass tooling (molds) to meet customer product specifications. Competently complete all process steps including:
-
Creation of finished product prototypes or plugs from various materials including, but not limited to MDF, foam, wood, tile, or other materials.

Preparation of prototype/plug to meet surface quality and dimensional requirements
-
Proper application of gel coat, fiberglass reinforcement (chopper gun and/or hand lay-up), and structural materials.

Trim, sand, polish completed molds
-

Repair and maintain production molds as required.

Create fiberglass reinforced parts per customer specifications including:

Perform polishing, cleaning, and application of release products to molds in preparation for creation of parts
-
Proper application of gel coat, fiberglass reinforcement (chopper gun and/or hand lay-up), and any structural materials
-
Release cured product from molds using various hand tools and machinery
-
Trim parts, finish sand polish as necessary with high attention to detail
-
Measure dimensions of products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications
-

Physical Requirements and Restrictions:
-
Able to stand for long periods of time – 7 to 8 hours per day
-
Able to work while bending, squatting, reaching
-
Able to pull and push without restrictions
-
Able to lift 50+ lbs.
-
Able to grip tools for long periods of time
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Education, certification(s), and/or experience in fiberglass mold creation and maintenance.
-
Education, certification(s) and/or experience in the production of fiberglass reinforced products
-
Familiarity with various tooling and laminating materials and methods, including gel coats, resins, fillers, and structural/reinforcing materials
-
Ability to accurately read a tape measure and other measuring tools.
-
Experience and ability to safely and effectively use power tools and production spray equipment
-
Ability to work effectively with hands in mechanically oriented situations
-
Self-driven and hard worker with excellent attendance
-
Aptitude to learn and retain new information
-
Ability to communicate effectively in English
-
Ability to follow instructions, given either verbally or in writing
-
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
-
Ability to stand for several hours at a time
-
Ability to stand, bend, squat, lift and carry up to 50lbs regularly and heavier weights with appropriate assistance
-
Ability to properly wear personal protective equipment including respirator, hearing and eye protection
-
Able to work efficiently either alone or with a team with minimal supervision
-
Ability to work in the US without sponsorship
-
Pass drug and background screening

Compensation:

Starting compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the experience and know-how you bring in.

Timing and amount of future compensation increases will be dependent on how well you deliver against the three behavioral requirements listed above as well as your growth as a team member and your consistent contribution to the company’s objectives.

Hours:
-
Full time, 6:30AM - 3:00PM Monday - Friday
-
Extended hours or weekends may be required as demand warrants
